Ruptured Spleen, Splenectomy : Recovery

چکیده
Whilst he was driving at a rate of 1,5 miles per hour the trolley skidded off the rails and the four occupants were thrown out. He suddenly felt burning pain in the abdomen, experienced difficulty in breathing, and had been unable to micturate since the accident occurred. Attention was diverted from his condition owing to the fact that a European lady passenger on the trolley sustained a fractured pelvis and clavicle (to which injuries she succumbed six days later), so that the only treatment he had received was an injection of morphia gr. j at the time, and another ? grain at 5 a.m. the next morning. He also ate some opium, but did not know how much.
